Meet Dr Leke

Ghuttie Snacks started with a simple mission: to bring real nutrition back into our diets through the healing power of superfoods.

Almost 30 years ago, my own struggle with poor gut health began. I experienced a range of symptoms, including persistent food cravings. Like many people searching for healthier options, I turned to the supermarket shelves for answers.

But I quickly realised that many products marketed as “healthy” were in fact ultra-processed foods in disguise. Despite my best intentions, I gained weight, and my symptoms worsened.

Years later, while I was also training as a GP, I began noticing that many of my patients were experiencing similar health challenges. I was determined to find answers-not only for myself, but for them too.

This led me to start experimenting with simple, natural foods: nuts, seeds, and a handful of wholesome ingredients. My approach was heavily influenced by the time I spent living in Bologna, Italy’s food capital, where I discovered the beauty of simple recipes and the philosophy that when it comes to food, less is often more.

About ten years ago, while training further as a gut health specialist, everything began to make sense. I discovered the remarkable healing potential of superfoods—ingredients that have been used by ancient cultures for centuries because of their exceptional nutritional value and health benefits.

I began incorporating these powerful ingredients into my recipes, using the humble sunflower seed as the base. Sunflower seeds are incredibly nutritious, naturally satisfying, and have a mild flavour that allows the superfoods to shine.

After years of experimentation, trial, and refinement, I found the perfect balance between nourishment and flavour. Friends, family, and my gut health clients loved them—and it became clear I was onto something special.

Today, Ghuttie Snacks brings the result of a lifetime of experience, clinical insight, and passion for nutrition to households across the UK and beyond.
